Wow!! So many years I haven't written in this blog. I am very excited to start middle school!!! Yay!! It's going to be amazing, and I am going to have a great time because; new school, new friends, new teachers, new subjects.... Wow! My mom cannot believe I have grown so much. :)
Well, you all are probably wondering what I did this summer. My answer to that is: MANY THINGS!! I am not going to stand here all day saying what I did in 2 months... but I am going to say things that are big... like me going to Los Angeles. My family and I went to Los Angeles because we had a ticket to Universal Studios. That was a very exciting trip,and I had the best time in the Mummy Ride... :P That was probably the best part... There were so many other things that I saw but it was so many things!! Ok, well I have to go get ready to shop for clothes... Goodbye!! =)

My Summer

My Summer is turning out great! My aunt from Mexico came and is spending a couple of months with us. My grandma also came from Mexico. By the way, while my grandma was gone ,we went to Monterey to have some fun at the Monterey Bay Aquarium!
It was very entertaining!
I forgot that my family and I are going to Reno on Tuesday and we're coming back on Wednesday.It will be very exciting...(maybe) I wish we could go to a fancy hotel.
During the summer I also went to a lot of fun events, like the Colombian Festival!
Although I am not Colombian, I love to go to the festival because of everything that they have there like the food and the music.
I really did have a lot of playdates with my friends. They were so much fun.
Some things that I did with my friends were go swimming, play games, and dress up!
My time with my family was nice, too. We really have good times together when we hang out. We go shopping, out of town, and do lots more things. We have had a great time together!

My Vacation and More

I got out on vacation on Friday the 13. It wasn't a bad luck day. It was a fun day! After school, I went to my best friend's house and we went swimming because she has a pool! It was so awesome. In fact, It was very hot outside! We were in the water for more than 2 hours! I thought it was very fun!
On Saturday I went to the ceremony to the James Marshall Park, next to my mom's school to see the grand opening.It was very fun. Then we worked our best at our Car Wash that we did to save the Cesar Chavez Pool for all of us would use it. It took probably about 3 or 4 hours to do.
On Sunday it was my brothers 7 birthday and we had a lot of fun because we went swimming at the S.O.S. club and we were there for 8 hours and it was very cool!!!!
Yesterday I stayed home, practice piano, I went to Costco, picked up my brother from school, I went to Pet Co, I went to piano class, and I saw my mom's play. I almost forgot! My dad told me if I practice Piano everyday, I will get a chance to get a ipod nano! That is very cool!I'm going to get a pink one!!!!
Oh yeah and today I went to Bret Harte school because of my mom's class. They went to go meet their Pen Pals. We got to go to recess with them, perform the play, we got to play games with me and ate ice cream!

I'm very sorry!

I'm very sorry that I haven't written . It's because I always am very busy with a lot of stuff with birthday parties, family, friends, and more. I had a very important birthday this year because I turned 10 and it was very awesome! But that month was also sad because my daddy was in Cuba for a month, one of my uncles in Cuba died, and my family from Arizona left really early to their home in Arizona. I have also gone swimming with a lot of my friends at the S.O.S. club.

Now, I only need one more week of school! Yippee! I'm going to be in fifth grade soon! I can't wait until next year! And by the way, my brother's birthday is on Father's Day and he is going to turn 7 years old! And if you can send in money for him because he has Autism and we are raising money for research. Ny New York Trip

Today I arrived at New York City! Today the day started very early for us...This morning we woke up at 3:00 a.m. to go to New York. I felt very tired, so did my family. At 6:35, we got to the airport. We ate breakfast in the airport. I remember where we ate breakfast. It was a Starbucks Coffee. I drank chocolate milk and I ate a chocolate croissant. Of course, my brother did eat and drink chocolate too. Later on, we got on the plane. It took 4 hours and 45 minutes to get to New York. I did many things on the plane. I watched TV. looked outside the window and listened to my mp3.
We finally arrived to JFK busy airport, and we went in a taxi all the way to our hotel. Our hotel is located on Queens Blvd. Queens is one of the fifth boroughs of New York City. After we arrived at the hotel, we got ready to go eat. We ate at a Colombian restaurant. The food was good. After that, we went on the subway to Manhattan. There were many lights. I loved it!

11-6-07

Today we had so much fun. I started the day by eating breakfast in a Chinese bakery. I ate a normal croissant and a hot chocolate. After we ate breakfast, we went on the subway to go to the American Museum of Natural History. It was amazing! We saw a Planetarium presentation. The movie was called Cosmic Collisions. I really enjoyed it. I learned all about the meteors, plants, and a lot about earth. After all that, we went to Central Park and walked around. We ran into a place called Strawberry Fields and John Lennon's memorial, where John Lennon was killed. We also saw the building where he lived. It was really sad. John Lennon's memorial was covered in flowers and there was a guitar next to it. It was pretty. We had New York pizza afterwards.
Then, we headed to Broadway! We saw the amazing musical Grease. It was wonderful. The music was in my head the whole time. The dancing was tremendous. I tried to dance like that with my brother too. We bought the soundtrack and sing along to it. I got to meet the cast and took pictures with them.
Finally, it was time to leave. We ate a great diner. It was delicious. I ordered a grill cheese sandwich. It was really good! I wish I could go there again!

11-7-07

Today was an awesome day! I wish you were here! The first thing that I did was go out to eat breakfast. We ate at another bakery. I ate pineapple bread and iced tea. It was good! Later on, we went to the Empire State Building. I was so amazed by how many floors there were. There were 102 floors! We couldn't go all the way up, only up to 82. I really enjoyed it! I could see everything from there! The statue of Liberty looked so small from up there. It was cold and windy, but beautiful. Next on our journey, we ate hot dogs before going on a cruise ship to go to the Statue of Liberty. I thought the hot dogs were delicious. Then, we got on the ship. I saw a girl that looked like me, my mom called her my "nemesis". It was funny! The ship was big. We had lots of time to take pictures. We sat outside to take better pictures. I thought everything was so beautiful. They put music on, like "New York, New York by Frank Sinatra. We saw the Statue of Liberty up close. It was much bigger than I thought. It was 62 ft. high. After the cruise, we took a cab to Little Italy. We ate delicious Italian food in a small Italian restaurant named Benito’s. We ate spaghetti, shrimp scampi and fettuccini Alf redo. Then cheesecake and cookies for desert.

Another busy day in NYC. Landmarks that we visited today were, Brooklyn Bridge, World Trade Center and many old buildings. One building that we went to was the building in which George Washington gave his inaugural speech. There was a huge statue of him in front of the building. It was on Wall Street. We also went to the World Trade Center, or Ground Zero. The World Trade Center were the buildings that were destroyed by two airplanes. There were 3,000 people killed that day. The city of New York is going to construct a new building that is called the Freedom Tower. It will be the tallest building in the United States, even bigger than the Empire State building.
In front of the World Trade Center, there was a church that survived the blast from the tower collapsing. We felt very sad. We felt this way because we saw photos of all the people who died. It was powerful.
We were very hungry after that visit. We ate in a cafeteria. The cafeteria was amazing. There were thousands and thousands of types of food. I served myself salad and five pot stickers. Then I ate a delicious soup.
Then we took a walk along the Brooklyn Bridge. It wasn't so long. It was kind of short for me. The view of the city was awesome. That evening we strolled all the way to beautiful Brooklyn. We went to shopping there. It was magical.
11-9-07

Today was so awesome! It was really rainy. We went to a lot of museums.
The first thing that we did was go to the United Nations. The United Nations is an organization that is made up of all the countries of the world. They get together to try to solve problems of the world like hunger, poverty and other problems. They also took a photo of my brother and me and made a U.N. stamp with our faces. After that, we went to a museum called the Guggenheim. It's famous for the design of building and art. The inside is six stories high. It goes around in a cylinder shape. When we went to the Guggenheim, they were in the middle of painting it yellow on the outside.
Then, we went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, or the Met. It was very beautiful. There was ancient art from Egypt, Rome, Greece and Europe. We loved that museum. It was the best one yet. You could spend days in that museum. There were lots of people and very exciting. The art was tremendous.
It was raining that day, so we decided to go see a movie. I wanted to see The Bee Movie. I liked it because it was made in New York, and we were able to recognize all the places in the movie. It was really cool! You know what was really weird? There were no kids in the theatre! It was all adults, some even with tattoos! It was funny.
Then we walked in the rain towards uptown to shop for a purse that I wanted. The purse says, "I heart New York!” We also bought the necessary things to make my costume of The Statue of Liberty for next year's Halloween. We ate roasted nuts from the street vendors and had lots of fun!
11-10-07

Today is our last day here, so we couldn't waste time. We went to Coney Island in the subway. It took an hour to get there. Coney Island is an old fair that is famous for its boardwalk. Unfortunately, we got lost there, and the fair was closed. It's only open in the summer. We went back to the city and we visited NYU. We went to Washington Square next to the university. It was a wonderful university. There were lots of things happening. We went to the NYU bookstore. I loved it.
We then went to a street fair where they sold many things. I ate a kebob and an arepa. There were lots of kabob vendors all over the place. The smell was great. There were lots of international foods. Then we rushed to make it to the museum of Modern Art, which closed in one hour. We made it in time. We saw the famous Van Gogh’s, Picasso’s, Matisse, and Warhol’s' works of art. It was amazing! There were lots of people everywhere.

Next, we visited Saint Patrick's cathedral and passed Rockefeller’s Center. We saw the biggest Christmas tree in the United States. It was not decorated yet, but they were getting it ready. We did final shopping for little things for my friends.
Our day ended with a magical show at Radio City Music Hall. The show was called "Christmas Spectacular". They were celebrating 75 years of the Rockettes! The show was wonderful because I loved the Rockette's clothes and their dancing. They all looked the same, like robots! I couldn't believe it. They made no mistakes when they danced. The music was live, with a huge big band. Part of the show was in 3D and we were given lights to light up the theatre. It was incredible! I'll never forget it.
Right before we went back to Queens, we went back to Times Square one last time. We went to the biggest toy store in the country. There was an indoor Farris wheel and a huge computerized dinosaur. We were so tired by then. We got back on the subway and said goodbye to NYC.

Final Comments: I thought New York was so beautiful. I am very proud to be an American because of all the great things I saw in this great city, especially the Statue of Liberty. I loved that all the people were immigrants, speak different languages, and get along very well. I want to go back as soon as can be!

Sorry I hadn't written in here since July, but I have some great news!!!
On Halloween, I went Trick-or-Treating with Sabina, my uncles, and my 4 cousin.We had a lot of fun...In one house, Sabi and a prisiner,(my uncle) went inside and it was scary... even with scary sound efects,and when the owner of the house opened,she was dressed up in a Minnie mouse costume.(scary.)
My very great news is that...I'm going to New York City!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yosemite

This is my brother and me on top of Columbia Rock. We hiked for 2 hours going up a hill. It was very hot and rocky. I fell and hurt my knee on the way down. From up there you could see everything. We ran out of water, but made it back alive!!!

I went to Yosemite on the 4 of July. I bought 19 rocks in Yosemite. On July 5, I hiked all of the way to Columbia rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that catched up all my breath!!! Well, if you haven't been to Yosemite, you should go there!! Did I tell you that I swam in the river with my uncle richp. and my brother. It was cold when you get in, but, when you stay there for a long time then it might get comfortable in the water. The movie Ratatouille

Dinner Theatre and good news

Today I went Dinner Theatre at the Stanislaus County Library. It was all about a man that is a mime and a mask maker. He was really funny. I ate Chinese food from Panda Express.
There were masks on the tables. I took two because my brother wanted one. I had a black one that said "MASK."
The good news is that tomorrow will be the last day of third grade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Plus, tomorrow at the high school close by our school, the 8th Graders will play VS. The best team in the world... The teachers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My Day

On Friday I went to school. I left school early at 1:00 because my mom said, "You have an appointment... with fun that is!" That was true.We went to the SOS for an hour.That was fun.Then, I went home, took a bath, and changed clothes. I put on a shirt that says "Nor*Cal " which was what my uncle Rich P. gave me. Then, after everything, I went back to school because my mom went to a fundraiser at my school and bought a coupon to go to a movie night. It was the most fun I have ever had.We played scrabble with Mrs. Cox and Mrs.Prelle (they are the 4/5 teachers.)That was the best Friday ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are many interdesting details about the Aquamarine.

First, the Aquamarine is a type of a crystal. It is made of minerals such as morganite and beryl.

Beryls are popular as gems because of their fine color. Minerals have a chemical combination that determines what shape it is going to have. just as our genes determine color of our hair. Crystals are minerals that have had a chance to grow into the shape that they were meant to be.

Today was a wonderful day.I got to go in my costume at school as a korean girl.Mr.France said I was "Peach Blossom".(I had to bring a costume with a book in it!)I was Pear Blossom.After, I went to the Mall to TRICK OR TREAT.I got a BIG chocolate,Hershys and a Meddal for nice costume.After everything,I went with Sabi and Mahima to their neighborhood to trick or treat.I went to a haunted house and a Real person dressed as a witch scared me with a BOO!!!!!!!

The Adventures of Violeta y Roxie and Family

Three dogs were playing. One dog was named Rico, another Roxie, and thier mother was Mrs. Tuftsy.Their father, Mr. Tuftsy, was at work. They were a very happy family. They always smiled and never frowned, except for Roxie who detested cats.
One day, Roxie told Rico, "Do you like cats?" Rico replied, "Of course I do because they are very cute! They have the most darling eyes don't you think?" Roxie was amazed at what she was hearing...she hated cats.
Mrs. Tuftsy had told them that one of her friends, a cat, was coming for a visit. Roxie and Rico were surprised because they had never had a cat visit their house. Rico had asked her mom if they could go buy food for them because he thought that she could make a great meal. Mrs. Tuftsy reminded Rico and Roxie, "Just be careful with the mean dogs. They might kill you."
As they left, they saw the cat arrive.
While Roxie and Rico were gone to the store, Mrs. Tufsty made delicious cookies for the cat and her family. Roxie was happy. The cat was no where to be seen. But then the cat came out of the bathroom. The cat introduced herself. She said, "Hi, my name is Violeta! Nice to meet you." Roxie had begun to growl at Violeta. She was about to attack her. Mrs. Tuftsy said, "Calm down, Roxie. She's a good friend!" Roxie couldn't hear her mom and didn't calm down. She just stared at Violeta at the table. She never took her eye off of Violeta. Violeta had never been attacked by any other dog, except for Roxie. Violeta, surprisingly, didn't mind. She kept blabbering. But Roxie's mom was angry. She sent Roxie to her room.
Now Violeta was beginning to get upset with Roxie, but she didn't let Roxie know. She told Roxie "Oh, thank you for scratching my back!" Roxie frowned and continued to attack her even more. Violeta kept calm.
Then Roxie's dad, Mr. Tuftsy walked in and saw the cat being attacked. Now, Mr. Tufsy felt the same way about cats as Roxie, and he began to attack her too.
Mrs. Tufsy told them to stop attacking. Roxie and Mr. Tufsy were confused. They had confused the friendly Violeta cat with another, meaner and evil cat also named Violetá ( with an accent). Mrs. Tufsy let them know that her guest was the nice cat from work even though they looked alike.
Roxie and Mr. Tufsy agreed to never attack any cats ever more. Then the door opened wide and there stood a cat and Mr. Tufsy, Roxie, Rico and Mrs. Tufsy asked it to join them for dinner. Violeta came along too. She forgave Roxie for the situation. The Tufsy family and friends went to the ice-cream shop and forgave each other for all the confusion.

I had a project about leopards at school.First I had to choose 3 animals.My first one was a horse,koala then a leopard.Leopards are really pretty,cool and gorgous creatures that I could learn a lot about. I learned so many facts about a leopard.Let me tell you a fact. A leopard can eat a carcass (food) for many days. It could also jump high on treetops and drag the carcass up there so no predator can steal it's prey. Leopards are beautiful creatures. Sometime men hunt them for their skins, men also make houses in thier habitat, where they live. Leopards are the third largest cat in the family of felines. Their scientific name is panthera pardus. It is a huge cat with black spots, sharp teeth, and claws. It has a long tale, green and yellow eyes. They measure up to 28 inches, 70 centimeters, tall at the shoulder. They measure 90 inches, 230 centimeters, long from head to tail. It can weigh up to 198 pounds. I learned lots about leopards. Now, I've learned lots of facts.

Mi primer animal, fue un caballo, y luego un koala y por ultimo un leopardo.Los leopardos son bonitos, padres y bellas creaturas de las cuales puedo aprender mucho. Mi amigo Alex me regalo un certificado para ir a la fabrica de osos. Yo escogi un oso y mi hermano escogio un koala. Estuvo muy bonito y jugamos con ellos. Nos divertimos mucho jugando con nuestos osos.

El día 18 de marzo, del 2006, yo voy a tocar el piano en la boda de Miss Backman. Miss Backman fue mi maestra de kinder y de primero. Es mi maestra favorita. Me pidio que tocara su cancion favorita que se titula "Bless The Broken Road".
Es una canción muy bonita, pero larga. Me tarde como 2 meses en aprendermela. Ya casi me sale perfecta. Solo me falta tocarla cancion miles de veces más para que me salga perfecta de verdad.

On March 18, 2006 I will play the piano for the wedding for Ms. Backman. Ms. Backman was my kinder and first grade teacher. She is my favorite teacher. She told me to play the piano for her wedding. It's her favorite song and it's called, "Bless the Broken Road". It's a song really beautiful, but long. It took me 2 months to learn it. I almost did it perfectly, I only need to play it one hunderd times so it can be beautiful.

El martes, 30 de agosto, toque con mi padre y mi hermano en San Jose. Me senti feliz. La cancion se llamaba "Que Sabor Tiene Odalys". Me gusto la cancion. Me gustaria tener otro grupo. Me diverti mucho. Yo vendi los discos. Me gustaria que mi hermano tocara los palos o la guitarra.
Casi toda la gente bailo. Me senti un poco penosa, pero me gusto. El lugar se llamaba "Santana Row" y estaba lindo.

Yo voy a Cuba. Yo fui a Mexico para ver a mi familia. Yo tuve mi cumpleaños en Mexico. A mi me gusta Cuba tambien. Yo fui a Cuba cuando tenia 3 años.
A mi me gusta vivir en Modesto mas porque aqui esta mi tio Ricky y aqui hay mas cosas que en Mexico y Cuba. Lo que me da gusto ver en Mexico es la iglesia mas grande y Cuba habian papalotes de bolsas de plastico.
Me gustaria vivir en Mexico tambien porque el helado sabe mas rico que aqui y Cuba tienen helado muy rico tambien. Me gustaria que mi hermano fuera a Cuba porque hay muchos instrumentos ahi y puede tocar la musica.
